Pre-Bathing Steps

Hair Brushing
1. Start brushing with a soft slicker and at the top of your dog.
2. The most common brushing method is to brush backward against the lay of the fur and then brush it back into place.
3. The skin and hair around dogs face are sensitive and you should take care not to harm them.
4. Examine the body for any ticks or infections.

Hair Trimming
1. Before you can start trimming, you need to brush all the hairs on your dog's body thoroughly to remove any hair loss.
2. You should follow the procedure from: neck, back, chest, abdomen, and finally the tail.
3. If you using a trimming clipper, always position the machine head in the direction of the hair growth.
4. If you are not sure you are handling the scissors or the trimmer properly, use a comb between the scissors and the skin to create a secure barrier.
Paw Care
1. Examine dog's paw for any infections.
2. Remove dirt or any harmful substances.
3. Nails trimming is an essential part of dog grooming.
Make sure your dog does not become frustrated by long grooming sessions prior to bathing. Take a break if necessary.
Bathing Steps
Bathing is an important activity for dogs with healthy skin and a healthy coat, the most common reason to bathe is to remove an unpleasant odour or because they’ve accumulated dirt on their coat
Washing
1. Start slowly with low pressure warm water.
2. Brush your dog’s hair. This will make it easier for you to rinse and lather your pup up with shampoo.
3. Wash from the neck and shoulders down to the paws.
4. Fill your palm with an natural organic shampoo formulated for dogs.
5. Apply the shampoo to the base of your dog’s skull. Avoiding his eyes, massage into a lather around his head and chest.
6. Rinse your dog thoroughly from head to tail until the water runs clear.
7. This step isn’t always necessary, if you want your dog's coat is naturally soft and silky you can apply conditioner in the same way you did the shampoo and let it sit as long as the instructions recommend, then rines well.
Drying
1. There are two basic ways to dry your dog with a blow dryer or a towel.
2. Be sure to dry your dog off after a bath to avoid discomfort.
3. Use a clean towel to dry the coat after a soothing shower
4. If your pup is long-haired, a blow dryer will effectively dry the coat.
